Episode 03: A Moment of Total Silence
US Army Veteran Chris Purdy returns to a place where he sought quiet amidst war. Audio producers Seersha and DonTae’ Hodge embraced the challenge of creating silence with sound. The creatives came together and found commonality in staying true to their instincts amidst the noise of self-doubt.
Chris Purdy (writer) is the Director of Veterans for American Ideals, an organization of veterans dedicated to advancing human rights at home and abroad. He also spent time as a Special Education Teacher for the District of Columbia Public Schools and a program administrator for Atlanta Public Schools. Chris served for eight years in the Army National Guard as a Combat Engineer, deploying to Iraq in 2011. He holds degrees in Sociology, Education, and Public Affairs.

Seersha (audio artist) is an interdisciplinary content creator, composer, music producer, songwriter, and recording artist hailing from ATL. Her work as an independent, self-produced artist has caught the attention of underground tastemakers such as yvynyl, Wonky Sensitive, Audiofemme, Popmuzik, Discobelle, and more. With a diverse musical background spanning from classical piano to time spent writing primarily country music in Nashville, as well a business degree from Emory University and experience in the corporate world, she has had a hand in a broad range of creative projects, including remixes, short film scoring, video game audio, music video production, and you can find her regularly streaming her production process and live performance on Twitch.

DonTaé “DonzPressPlay” Hodge (audio artist) is an Audio Engineer and Producer from the British Virgin Islands. When not recording all things media or producing music or podcasts, he spends his time mixing records, which is his true love. In the last 3yrs, in addition to his love for the technical aspect of the industry, DonTaé found a love for the business side of the industry. That new found Passion led him to starting an Entertainment company with three friends, which manages 3 artists and produces a radio show.
